Great Start for Girls’ Basketball
The Minnehaha Girls Basketball team got off to a great start this week, winning the Dover-Eyota Earlybird Tournament for the 2nd year in a row. The Redhawks defeated the host Eagles 68-57 on opening night. Junior Terra Rhoades led the way with 19 points, sophomore Nevaeh Galloway and freshman Mia Curtis each added 17, while sophomore Taytum Rhoades contributed 15.

The Redhawks scored a whopping 56 points in the 1st half of the championship game vs. Zumbrota-Mazeppa. The final score was 76-57. Mia Curtis led all scorers with 24 points, 20 of which came before the halftime break. Mia’s fast start was recognized as she was named a Star Tribune Athlete of the Week! Terra Rhoades scored 16, and sophomore Kae Seana Barth-Lofton got rolling with 14 off the bench.

The Redhawks start the year ranked 5th in Class AA.
