Soccer (Girls)
Varsity, Junior Varsity, Middle School / Girls
Program Overview
Minnehaha Academy has two high school and two middle school teams. We are a unique program in that we are an extremely competitive program yet we also place a great emphasis on the social and spiritual components. The program is built on effort, improvement, respect and a lot of fun. We desire to make lifetime memories and friends as well as grow and learn important life lessons. Everyone that follows team guidelines will make and play on a team.
Off season activities optional for soccer include open gym soccer; an indoor soccer team; weight training; summer practice; Redhawk soccer camp; captain’s practice; summer fitness and skill training schedule and individual training with the coaches. We offer as much or as little as an individual player wants.
Other points of interest: We have eight girls soccer coaches – all Minnehaha Academy soccer alumni. The varsity has made it into the State Tournament four times, winning the title and going undefeated in 1998.
Middle School
Middle School Girls Soccer begins at the start of the school year, and is open to players in Grades 6-8. These teams are open for players who are beginners and to those who play at a highly competitive level. Players who participate can count on 3 practice days a week, and 1 to 2 contests as well. Our Coaches do a great job preparing these girls to play at the High School level.
Captains Practices
Captain's practices begin 1 week before the official start. The Soccer Camp is one week before captain's practices.
Tryouts
Tryouts occur the first week.
Game Locations
Varsity Home games are played on the North Campus soccer field; JV and B squad play mainly at Ft Snelling with some games at the North Campus.
